ABOUT THE ROLE

Position

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our Water and Wastewater team. 

Reporting to the Supervisor Wastewater, this position plays an important role in keeping Council’s wastewater systems operating safely, reliably and efficiently. Working primarily independently, you will be responsible for the cleaning, maintenance and repair of wastewater pump stations, assets and infrastructure across the local government area.

As part of our wastewater team, you will undertake a variety of hands-on labouring and maintenance duties that directly contribute to the ongoing performance and reliability of Council’s water and wastewater systems. You will work as part of a team to respond to operational needs, maintain essential infrastructure and support the delivery of high-quality services to our community.

To be successful you will bring

  • Demonstrated understanding of and/or experience in the operations and maintenance of wastewater reticulation networks.
  • Demonstrated experience in and ability to undertake physical labouring duties.
  • Proven experience in the operation and maintenance of small plant and equipment such as pressure cleaners and basic power tools.
  • Demonstrated digital literacy with experience and competence in computer and device (e.g. tablet, iPhone) applications.
  • Work Safely in the Construction Industry Induction ticket (white card).
  • Current immunisation against Hepatitis A and Hepatitis B viruses or willingness to participate in an immunisation program.
  • Ability and willingness to work in confined spaces.
  • Willingness and ability to work on call in accordance with roster requirements.

  • A salary range of $59,700 to $68,600 per annum (plus 12% superannuation) dependent upon skills and experience.
