ABOUT THE ROLE

Position

We are currently seeking a skilled Welder/Metal Fabricator to join our workshop team. If you enjoy working in a supportive environment that values teamwork, safety, and work-life balance, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

In this hands-on role, you will play an important part in designing and constructing high-quality metal fabrications to meet Council needs, while also maintaining and repairing plant and machinery to a high standard. You will work collaboratively with the team to deliver practical, reliable solutions, ensuring all work aligns with Council’s safety, risk, environmental, and quality standards.

To be successful you will bring

  • Behaviour that positively demonstrates Council’s values of: creative, accessible, respect, energetic and safe.
  • Relevant trade qualification.
  • Demonstrated experience in the welding/fabrication industry with proven ability to fabricate steel, aluminium and stainless steel.
  • Proven ability in the design and production of basic metal fabrication drawings.
  • Demonstrated ability to read complex engineering plans/drawings and complete fabrication works.
  • Proven good communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Work Safely in the Construction Industry Induction ticket (white card).
  • Class C driver licence with the ability to operate manual transmission and a good and safe driving record.

  • An annual salary range of $65,800 to $75,500 (plus 12% superannuation) dependent upon skills, experience and qualifications.
