ABOUT THE ROLE

Position

We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable individual to join Council's Water and Wastewater section to play a vital role in delivering safe, reliable water services to our community. This hands-on position offers a great mix of planned and responsive work, where no two days are the same.

Reporting to the Supervisor Water, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving Council’s water infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and service delivery. Working both independently and as part of a supportive team, you will contribute to essential maintenance programs and the ongoing upgrades of our water network.

To be successful you will bring

  • Behaviour that positively demonstrates Council’s values of: creative, accessible, respect, energetic and safe.
  • Certificate III Water Operations or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the operations of water reticulation networks.
  • Demonstrated experience in and ability to undertake physical labouring duties.
  • Proven good communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Demonstrated digital literacy with experience and competence in computer and devices (e.g. tablet, iPhone) applications.
  • Confined Spaces certificate (or willingness to obtain) and the ability to work in confined spaces.
  • Class C driver licence and demonstrated good safe driving record.
  • Traffic Controller ticket or willingness to obtain.
  • Work Safely in the Construction Industry Induction ticket (white card).

  • An annual salary range of of $61,300 to $70,300 (plus 12% superannuation) dependent upon skills, experience and qualifications.
