ABOUT THE ROLE

Position

We are offering a great opportunity for a motivated and energetic individual to join our Engineering Works Section.

Reporting to the Supervisor, this position is responsible for performing a variety of labouring duties associated with rural road maintenance functions, including concreting, signage maintenance, roadside spraying, pothole repairs and general maintenance of roads, roadsides, footpaths, cycleways, kerb and guttering, drainage, bridge structures and all other assets for the Engineering Works section.

To be successful you will bring

  • Behaviour that positively demonstrates Council’s values of: creative, accessible, respect, energetic and safe.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and/or experience in general maintenance duties associated with roads and roadsides, including concreting and finishing, pipe laying and sign installation.
  • Demonstrated communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate various items of minor plant and equipment.
  • Demonstrated experience in and ability to perform a range of physical labouring duties.
  • Class C driver licence with the ability to operate manual transmission.
  • Work Safely in the Construction Industry Induction ticket (white card).
  • Ability and willingness to work in confined spaces, excavations and at heights.
