ABOUT THE ROLE

Position

We are looking for an enthusiastic and suitably qualified and experienced individual to join Council's Water and Wastewater team. Reporting to Council Strategic Engineer – Water and Wastewater, this position will apply technical knowledge and experience to contribute to strategic asset planning, management, system analysis and infrastructure investigations.

You will play a key role in ensuring Council consistently meets its Levels of Service and all regulatory and licensing requirements, while delivering high-level technical advice and support to supervisors and operational teams responsible for these vital services.

To be successful you will bring

  • Tertiary qualifications in an engineering or related discipline, together with experience or interest in working in the water and wastewater field.
  • Experience or knowledge in drinking water, recycled water and wastewater infrastructure construction or operation.
  • Demonstrated experience or knowledge in maintenance and asset management systems and processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, develop and implement process or system improvements resulting in better project or organisational outcomes or efficiencies.
  • Proven project investigation and scoping skills associated with civil engineering constructions and/or operations.
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to negotiate and consult on complex matters and provide technical advice and services though effective written and verbal communication.

The rewards

  • A full time annual salary range of $84,300 to $96,700  (plus 12% superannuation) dependent upon skills, experience and qualifications.
