ABOUT THE ROLE

Position

Council is seeking an organised, motivated and suitably experienced individual to join its People and Culture section. 

Reporting to Council’s Manager People and Culture, this role plays a vital part in ensuring the smooth and accurate delivery of Council’s payroll services. You will coordinate, maintain and process payroll functions with a strong focus on compliance with relevant legislation and industrial instruments.

Working within a close-knit team, the position will engage with staff at all levels to provide professional, customer-focused advice and support on employee related matters.

  • Demonstrated recent experience in payroll, finance, accounting or related industry.
  • Demonstrated sound knowledge and understanding of legislation relating to PAYG tax and superannuation and Awards.
  • Proven application of strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to tasks with the ability to work accurately under conflicting time pressures to meet deadlines.
  • Ability and commitment to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and demonstrate tact and discretion when dealing with people.
