ABOUT THE ROLE
Position
We are currently seeking a passionate and suitably qualified individual to join Council's Public and Environmental Health section.
Reporting to the Coordinator of Public and Environmental Health, the Environment Officer Coast and Estuaries is part of a motivated and professional team dedicated to delivering positive environmental outcomes across the Shire. This includes playing a vital role in implementing our coastal management and healthy waterways programs, along with general environmental health services.
The role requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic planning, and excellent communication skills to effectively support and advance our environmental health initiatives. A key focus includes developing plans, policies, and partnerships with key stakeholders to enhance program success and community awareness.

To be successful you will bring

- Tertiary qualifications in environmental science, environmental health or an allied profession.
- Demonstrated industry experience with knowledge of contemporary coast and estuary management programs.
- Demonstrated project management skills, with the ability to manage grant funded projects.
- Proven ability to support the coordination and delivery of community and stakeholder engagement programs.
- Proven experience working collectively and collaboratively across organisations and with stakeholders.
- Demonstrated high level communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to prepare technical reports.
- Demonstrated ability to provide sound technical advice, judgement and creative problem solving.
The rewards
- An annual salary range of $84,300 to $112,600 (plus 12% superannuation) dependent upon skills, experience and qualifications.
