ABOUT THE ROLE

Position

Reporting to the Coordinator Destination and Economy , this newly created position will provide administrative and engagement support to deliver Ballina Shire Council’s Economic Development Program. Key focus areas of the position will be to assist with maintaining a business contact database, preparing communications and promotional materials, coordinating industry events and meetings, and responding to business enquiries.

To be successful you will bring

  • Behaviour that positively demonstrates Council’s values of: creative, accessible, respect, energetic and safe.
  • Vocational certificate in business administration, tourism, communications or a related field, and/or sufficient experience in an administrative or office support environment.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting events, stakeholder communications or business engagement activities.
  • Demonstrated strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills with the ability to be collaborative and build relationships with stakeholders.
  • Proven high level computer literacy with experience in Microsoft 365 and other corporate software, including familiarity with CRM systems or stakeholder databases.

The rewards

  • An annual salary range of $63,300 to $72,600 (plus 12% superannuation) dependent upon skills, experience and qualifications.
