ABOUT THE ROLE
Position
We are seeking a passionate and suitably experienced professional to join our Asset Management and Resource Recovery team. Reporting to the Manager Asset Management and Resource Recovery, this position is part of a motivated and professional team dedicated to delivering positive resource recovery environmental outcomes across the Shire. The position plays a vital role in the development and implementation of programs, projects and practices to ensure protection and improvement of environmental compliance relating to landfill and resource recovery operations.
This is a part time (22.5 hours per week), temporary position for parental leave relief for a period of up to 12 months.

- Tertiary qualifications at degree level in an environmental engineering or environmental science related field.
- Proven operational experience in the application of environmental management principles in the waste management industry.
- Demonstrated sound knowledge and experience in managing legislative instruments such as licences, approvals and waste management planning and procurement.
- Demonstrated experience in preparation and presentation of environmental compliance engineering reports.
- Demonstrated professional knowledge of environmental legislation including Protection of Environment Operations Act 1997, Local Government Act and EPA Act.
- Demonstrated sound knowledge and application of environmental management and or engineering techniques associated with landfill and transfer stations.
- Demonstrated experience in the areas of budget administration, contract management and financial management.
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to consult and negotiate with relevant stakeholders on complex matters through effective written and verbal communication.
