ABOUT THE ROLE
Position
Council is very fortunate to have our own staff employed to maintain all of Council’s plant, buildings, and community infrastructure.
We are looking for a suitably trade qualified and experienced Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join our workshop team. Reporting to the Supervisor Mechanical Services, the position will provide a high level of assistance to Council’s Workshop team in the maintenance, servicing and repair of Council’s heavy vehicles, and other plant and machinery items. It will also assist the Supervisor in the training and development of apprentices.
To be successful you will bring

- Trade certificate relevant to the position.
- Demonstrated experience working in a mechanical workshop.
- Proven experience with hydraulics, pumps, welding and heavy plant repairs.
- Proven knowledge of plant operation capabilities and associated maintenance and repair requirements.
- Demonstrated experience in the direction and supervision of apprentices and contractors, with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
The rewards
- A salary range of $65,800 to $75,500 per annum (plus 12% superannuation, a weekly tool allowance of $35.40 and a weekly industry allowance of $18.28).
