ABOUT THE ROLE

Position

Council is offering a great opportunity for a suitably qualified, experienced and enthusiastic individual to supervise, coordinate and motivate Council’s workshop team to ensure efficient completion of quality workshop programs associated with the repair and maintenance of a diverse range of Council’s heavy plant, machinery and equipment.

This role is essential for maintaining the operational efficiency and effectiveness of Council’s workshop, and will play a key role on modelling and promoting Council’s and the Facilities Management Section values.

The successful candidate will bring experience in a similar level role with proven broad experience in a mechanical workshop environment. 

To be successful you will bring

  • Relevant trade qualification and significant experience in the automative and/or heavy plant industry.
  • Proven knowledge of plant operation capabilities and associated maintenance and repair requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience in and ability to manage and lead teams.
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing high level customer service.
  • Proven experience in budget administration, contract management and project management.

The rewards

  • A salary range of $89,900 to $103,200 (plus 11.5% superannuation), dependent upon experience, skills and qualifications.  This is applicable to a 9 day fortnight work arrangement, and incorporates the payment of five hours of approved overtime per fortnight according to Council’s Annual Salary Agreement.
  • 9 day fortnight working arrangement. Full time field staff will have the option to apply to work a compressed four day work week, subject to operational and team based requirements and approval.
