ABOUT THE ROLE

Position

Council is currently seeking an enthusiastic and capable individual to join its Utilities Construction team. Reporting to the Supervisor Utilities Construction, this position will be responsible for operating various plant machinery and performing manual labour to support the installation, maintenance, and repair of water and wastewater infrastructure.

To be successful you will bring

  • Demonstrated understanding of and experience in the construction, maintenance and repair of water and wastewater infrastructure including pipelines, manholes, storage tanks, valve pits and small sewer pump stations.
  • Demonstrated experience in the operation of relevant plant items (such as tipper truck, front end loader, backhoe, etc.) and basic mechanical knowledge.
  • Demonstrated digital literacy with experience and competence in computer and devices (e.g. tablet, iPhone) applications, including Microsoft Office and SCADA.
  • Proven knowledge and ability to use pipe lasers and dumpy levels.
  • Demonstrated experience in and ability to perform a range of physical labouring duties.

The rewards

  • A salary range of $57,500 to $66,000 per annum (plus 11.5% superannuation) dependent upon skills, experience and qualifications.
