ABOUT THE ROLE
Position
We are looking for enthusiastic, hard working and appropriately qualified individuals to join Council's Open Spaces and Reserves team.
Reporting to the Supervisor, this position is responsible for working with and guiding a small team to complete general horticultural maintenance programs according to specifications and budget and in accordance with Council requirements and relevant standards for work health and safety, risk management, environmental and quality systems. A key focus of the role will be to work constructively with the Supervisor to ensure the teams goals and objectives are achieved.
To be successful you will bring

- Certificate III in Horticulture (or equivalent) and relevant work experience in the field.
- Demonstrated experience in the supervision of staff, with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Proven good communication skills, both oral and written.
- Demonstrated experience and ability to perform a range of physical labouring duties.
- Class C driver licence with the ability to operate manual transmission and a good and safe driving record.
- Current Chemical Application certificate.
The rewards
- An annual salary range of $61,500 to $70,500 (plus 11.5% superannuation) dependent upon skills, experience and qualifications.
- 9 day fortnight working arrangement. Council is currently trialling a range of flexible working options. Full time field staff will have the option to apply to work a compressed four day work week, subject to operational and team based requirements and approval.
