ABOUT THE ROLE
Position
We are seeking an enthusiastic and appropriately experienced Design Engineer to join our Infrastructure Planning team. Reporting to the Manager Infrastructure Planning, the position is responsible for delivering high quality engineering, drafting and design services, including investigation, design and preparation of construction plans for civil infrastructure projects in line with Council’s Delivery Program and Operational Plan.
Council will consider both part time and full time working arrangements, and will discuss preferred working arrangements with shortlisted candidates at interview stage.
To be successful you will bring
- Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
- Proven excellent project investigation and design skills associated with civil engineering operations.
- Demonstrated knowledge of land development planning and civil construction methods.
- Demonstrated professional experience in managing design projects, budgets and people in order to achieve desired outcomes in a timely manner.
- Demonstrated ability to brief and manage service providers including consultants, contractors and temporary staff.
- Proven excellent interpersonal skills, including high level ability to negotiate and consult on complex matters and provide technical advice and services through effective written and verbal communication.
- Proven excellent skills and competence in the use of computer applications such as Magnet, 12d (or similar) and Autocad, system analysis and studies and competence in use of Microsoft office software.
The rewards
- An annual salary range of $95,300 to $109,300 (plus 11.5% superannuation) dependent upon skills, experience and qualifications.
- 19 day month flexible work arrangement. Council is currently trialling a range of flexible working options. Subject to operational requirements, full time office staff will have access to a nine day fortnight, with a thirty minute lunch break. For the duration of the trial arrangement, staff will also have the option to apply to work a compressed four day work week, subject to operational requirements and approval.
